Production software, educational platforms, and businesses โ all built, deployed, and generating real-world impact.
FlexMath is a comprehensive software suite I created for teaching Algebra to disenfranchised learners. Built from scratch with PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, the platform was deployed in real classrooms across California and produced the most significant documented standardized test achievement gains in the No Child Left Behind era.
The software was piloted in 2009 at Leadership Public Schools (LPS) Hayward, serving 84 ninth-grade Algebra students โ 71% economically disadvantaged and 91% non-white. The results were extraordinary and validated by California Department of Education STAR testing data across multiple schools from 2003 to 2013.
| Metric | LPS Hayward (FlexMath) | Neighboring High School |
|---|---|---|
| Overall Algebra Pass Rate | 56% | 3% |
| Students Scoring "Advanced" | 25% | 0% |
| Students Scoring "Proficient" | 31% | 3% |
| Students (9th Grade Algebra) | 84 | All students |
| Same Feeder Middle Schools | Yes โ directly across the street | |
The 2009 passing rate at the comprehensive high school directly across the street from LPS Hayward โ serving the same feeder middle schools โ was just 3% for all Algebra students, with 0% scoring Advanced. By stark contrast, 25% of LPS Hayward students scored "Advanced" and 31% scored "Proficient" for a combined 56% passing rate. This placed LPS Hayward in the top 100 of all high schools in California for Algebra achievement in 2009.
CourtKraken is a custom-built CRM (Customer Relationship Management) platform designed specifically for managing tennis academy operations. It handles scheduling, student tracking, communications, and business analytics for Evolution Tennis Academy.
This is a live, production SaaS product serving real clients โ not a portfolio exercise. It demonstrates full-stack development capability from concept through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
Built as a full-stack web application leveraging AI-integrated development workflows for rapid iteration. The platform demonstrates the "Forward Deployment Engineering" approach: I identified a real operational need in my own business, built the solution, deployed it, and iterate based on daily real-world use.
McTweak.ai is a complete computer science curriculum with an integrated character ecosystem. The course is designed to make coding accessible and engaging through narrative-driven learning experiences.
The companion tool, Code Tweaker, is an interactive platform where students learn to code by modifying existing programs. Rather than starting from a blank editor, students are given working programs as "learning challenges" and learn by tweaking, experimenting, and observing the results โ a pedagogy that dramatically lowers the barrier to entry for new coders.
Complete CS course with character-driven curriculum ecosystem. Full lessons, exercises, and progression.
mctweak.aiFull-featured editor for desktop/laptop. Students modify real programs to learn coding concepts.
Desktop EditorMobile-optimized version for learning on phones and tablets. Adapted UI for touch interaction.
Mobile VersionEvolution Tennis Academy (ETA) is my tennis coaching business in Meridian, Idaho. Beyond the coaching itself, I designed, developed, and deployed the complete web presence and software infrastructure that drives the academy's operations and the pedagogical experience for all players.
ETA perfectly illustrates the Forward Deployment Engineer role: I identified the needs of a real business (my own), built custom software to address those needs, deployed it into production, and iterate daily based on real-world usage. Every feature exists because a real user needed it โ not because it appeared on a product roadmap.
